Dan Suter

Dan Suter is a solicitor-advocate of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, and a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of St Vincent and the Grenadines. He is currently the criminal justice advisor to the Eastern Caribbean, based at the British High Commission and funded by the US Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados. He advises prime ministers, police commissioners, attorneys-general and directors of public prosecution in seven countries on sustainable criminal justice reform.

Highlights of his work include:

  • Establishment of a National Prosecution Service in Dominica, St Kitts and Nevis and St Vincent and the Grenadines;
  • Drafting a Code for Prosecutors, which has been implemented in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica, St Kitts and Nevis and St Lucia;
  • Drafting a Witness Charter, which has been implemented in St Lucia;
  • Arranging the Caribbean Directors of Public Prosecutions Conference in St Lucia in 2011, where the Caribbean Association of Prosecutors was established;
  • Presenting to Caribbean Security Ministers and the UK Home Office Minister at the UK-Caribbean Ministerial Forum
  • Commendation for work conducted in the Eastern Caribbean by UK Home Office Minister James Brokenshire and United States Attorney General Eric Holder
